(Podgorica, 7 May 2025)

Following participation in the 5th International Parliamentary Conference of the Silk Road Group (SRG) within the OSCE PA, titled “Bridging Continents: Advancing Sustainable Tourism, Clean Energy, and Ecological Balance for a Resilient Future” — hosted by the Parliament of Montenegro, the Deputy Prime Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development, H.E. Mr. Milun Zogović, received a delegation of Azerbaijani business leaders in Podgorica on 7 May 2025.

The delegation was led by Mr. Javid Mustafayev, Director of InvestBaku, who emphasized the importance of strengthening bilateral business ties and underlined Azerbaijani companies’ strong interest in participating in Montenegro’s infrastructure and tourism development projects. He highlighted Azerbaijan’s growing expertise in construction and urban development, and the willingness of its companies to contribute to Montenegro’s national infrastructure priorities.

The meeting enabled a productive exchange on investment opportunities in capital infrastructure projects, including the design and reconstruction of key transport networks, urban zones, communal systems, and energy facilities. Deputy Prime Minister Zogović expressed Montenegro’s openness to collaboration with credible international partners that bring know-how, technology, and experience in managing large-scale, complex projects.

He also highlighted that the Silk Road Group serves as a strategic dialogue platform for building closer links between Europe and Asia — with energy efficiency, infrastructure connectivity, environmental protection, and economic cooperation being among the most crucial topics.

The Azerbaijani delegation reiterated its interest in deepening its presence in the Western Balkans through long-term investments, acknowledging Montenegro’s political and economic stability and the government’s openness to foreign partners.

This meeting further reaffirmed the strong and friendly relations between the two countries and set the stage for future cooperation across multiple sectors, especially in construction and infrastructure.
