The present EU Sector-Specific Business Mission to Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic of Azerbaijan focuses on Alternative Energy, Tourism, and Transport/Logistics with the aim to explore current developments and investment opportunities for EU businesses in Azerbaijani regions. During the mission, EU businesses get a chance to network and meet potential partners.

Who can apply to the business mission:
- The Ambassadors and diplomats from the EU member states’ embassies responsible for trade/ economic sections. To ensure participation of more EU MS representation only one representative from each Embassy can attend the mission.
- Only European businesses operating in alternative energy, tourism, and transport/logistics sectors. To ensure balance among sectors and country representation the organizers will keep quota for different sectors and European countries.
- Representatives of European IFIs and European chambers operating in Azerbaijan.

All persons who wish to participate in the mission must register irrespectively of their position, country, and company/organization. In order to keep balanced participation of parties, there is a quota of 50 % for diplomats and 50 % for private sector representatives.

Flight tickets and expenses:
Participants are responsible for organizing and paying their own travel costs to the venue of the mission as well as for their accommodation.

About the project  

This sector-specific business mission is proposed under the frame of the EU Azerbaijan Business Forum, a flagship initiative funded by the European Union with the objective to strengthen the non-oil sector in Azerbaijan by improving the business climate and supporting the economic diversification of the country. The main tasks of the Project are devoted to the promotion of economic cooperation between the EU and Azerbaijan, strengthening awareness of the business climate and investment opportunities in Azerbaijan, and enhancing public-private dialogue. The Project is currently being implemented by COWI Belgium in collaboration with the Italy-Azerbaijan Chamber of Commerce, the Azerbaijan-France Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and InvestBaku LLC.
